The design of the machine incorporates 4 chopping blades on a steel boss which provides a mulching effect reducing the volume of leaves by up to 5:1, a step up gear box increases the rpm and the very wide throw area gives very little resistance to chopped leaves making blocking highly unlikely. This machine is very much at home with wet leaves and litter, some have even been used to great effect on landfill sites collecting large volumes of wind blown litter.
